Simple CGI Hit Counter

If you need a simple cgi hit counter, you can use the script written by John Collins, this is popular web stats using PERL CGI, the code is open source and you can rewrite it for personal purpose, the code is available here http://www.akamarketing.com/simple-hit-counter-with-perl.html

The script consist of:

  1. counter.cgi - the actual Perl hit counter script, to be placed in the cgi-bin of your web site.
  2. count.dat - a plain-text file that will store the count value, also in the cgi-bin.
  3. counter demo.shtml - the HTML page that will call the script.

Web Site Design and implementation
We design and implement web sites for our clients. Simply put, our clients provide us with direction as to their needs and we design and implement web sites to fulfill those needs. We handle all aspects of the design and implementation including: search and acquiring of domain names; providing email services; preparing sites for search engine considerations; performing web site graphic design and layout; programming client-side/server-side functions; and web hosting.

We can provide our customers web sites as examples of our work upon request. However, the following three examples show what can be done.
